Amazing, amazing staff on maternity. I was Induced again and from time I arrived until baby arrived, the care I received was amazing. I felt like they listened to me and understood I suffered with bad anxiety. My doctor was amazing. All around amazing care 5*. Would always come here for maternity care.

I am 26 weeks pregnant and I have been diagnosed with a pregnancy-related condition. I found one staff member very rude and unhelpful with any of my questions. She was not understanding or caring and some of her comments should never be said as she doesn’t know what any individual has gone through regarding previous births. I have spent the day stressed and worried sick. This is not how anyone should be treated especially when pregnant. I am already dreading my next appointment.

I was in Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar today for a procedure and can't compliment the day ward staff and theatre staff enough. They were so pleasant, helpful, nice and efficient. Would definitely return to Mullingar hospital again if required.

I have only been in two hospitals in the 20 past years (both private in Dublin and was taken care of extremely well). I had a medical emergency last week and was sent by my doctor to Mullingar Regional. I am so grateful to all the staff for their suburb care. The doctors and nurses in the MAU were second to none. Also medical ward 1 have been amazing, so caring, hardworking and reassuring. The hospital is so clean and comfortable, seems to me every member of staff is dedicated to their work. It's a safe place to be. Thank you all.

Most of the nurses in SCBU unit were fantastic! However one particular nurse could really do with a course in how to speak to new mothers , to say ‘don’t concern yourself with your baby’ is not an acceptable statement to say post delivery when your baby is in special care!

I couldn't help but notice how clean everything was. From that I was pleasantly surprised at how well the casualty ward and ward 4 was run/managed. Whoever the operational manager is, keep doing what you are doing, every member of staff was not only good at their jobs but they were happy doing their jobs, from the porter to the up for a laugh dinner ladies in ward 4. They all made my overnight stay an easy one. Special mention to head nurse in ward 4 and St.Loman's supporter thanks for everything. To anyone that reads this, if you are going to casualty with illness, expect to be there for at lest 3/4 hours and if admitted expect to be on a trolley bed and know that you will be moved to a ward when a place becomes available. Remember its not the staff's fault, they do an amazing job, treat them with respect as they do you. Keep up the great work in Mullingar. Thank you.

I was looked after so well by all members of staff. Everything was well explained to me which meant I was relaxed going into surgery. I was very confident in my doctor doing the job and the staff in ICU were so attentive. All in all I had a great experience of specialised care and attention. I would like to thank all of the staff I encountered for looking after me so well. Great to have this quality of a hospital and service in the midlands.

The food standard in here is appalling. Terrible dried out over-cooked veg and rusty stale meat with chewy potatoes and a tiny 10ml glass of milk to wash it down. The FSAI needs to visit.

What a nightmare of a place. When we first went in there was three people in waiting room. Three later there was 20. Son was triaged but nurse never explained what's happening after. Waited three hours then decided to go home. Tried to get discharge form to sign. No luck. Some staff ok, others a disaster. Hateful place to go to. In the end just we left. I avoid the place at all costs

Was referred by a GP for an ultrasound in the urology department. Had queued for over two hours to see triage nurse first to see what my medical situation was. The nurse spent approx two minutes examining me and then told me I would have to wait to be seen by a doctor, said it could be another three to four hours. This is ridiculous. All I wanted was to have an ultrasound. As I said I was referred by a GP so why clog up the A&E to see both a doctor and a nurse instead of sending me down to the urology unit. Complete waste of resources and my time. Management have a lot to answer for when some simple steps could help to reduce queues and waiting times for everyone.

The catering and cleaning staff were a disgrace. They barged into my daughter's isolation room. Their communication skills were minimal. My daughter pooed on floor at 6pm and at 9pm I was still waiting on someone to clean it up so I got on my hands and knees and did it myself. When I complained about it and mentioned infection control, it was passed off as staff shortages. While they drag the poo on their shoes half way around the ward. The nurses were nice but by god the support staff need to be addressed about this lack of respect. Cleaning a floor by throwing a jug of water then mopping it up is hilarious.

Jenny was exceptional in ICU in dealing with my auntie. She was very attentive and professional. I felt my aunt was very well cared for when Jenny was on duty. I wasn't very impressed with the next ward though. Doctors call around when you're not allowed in and older people need support and should have somebody to assist and ask the questions they cannot. Also thank God my cousins were in 2/3 times a day. Looks to be plenty of staff just more attention to the patients would be good.

Look it's the managers' responsibility to ensure the care and attention is being provided. Some nurses are great and some are not.

I recently had my third baby in Mullingar and I found the staff very helpful, the facility clean and they made sure that I was happy to leave after staying two nights. I would highly recommend Mullingar's maternity ward.

I attended casualty at 3am actively miscarrying. I was obviously very upset and Gill and Margaret the nurses in A&E treated me so well. Ye should be so proud of yourselves ye are wonderful at your jobs. Roisin, Ann Marie, Joan and Amy the midwives really helped me through hard times. Thanks to all.

From the time we were seen in A&E the hospital staff, from nurses, to consultants both in A&E and on the paediatrics ward could not do enough for our little boy and ourselves, explaining everything to us and putting our mind at ease.

Hope my father never has to attend this hospital ever again. Was literally accused of being a pain med junkie when he actually had a herniated disk and couldn't walk with the pain. My own mother had to shower the man. No nurse available. Medical chart with his name on it with the wrong address, wrong date of birth on it, this was swiftly snapped off my mother when she pointed it out to the nurse. Thankfully he has health insurance to be able to transfer to Dublin. Absolute joke of a hospital, imagine if he didn't have health insurance. I will also be submitting a formal complaint.

Unfortunately we have had many stays at this hospital and thankfully the majority have been great. The nurses in the paediatric ward are always helpful and interested in talking to my son and making sure he understands what is going on. The only complaint I would have is with the food provided. A lot of chips offered.

Total disaster. Took eight hours of waiting to see doctor for two minutes and get antibiotic prescription. If I had a choice, I would never ever go back to them.

My daughter had an accident and hurt her foot badly. We went to A&E at 6pm and she had an x-ray. We were left waiting five hours in A&E on a Friday evening to be seen by a doctor. It was exceptionally busy and they rushed the stitching that was required. By this stage my daughter was so distressed another doctor came in to see what was going on and it was her who helped calm my daughter down with me. We went to our GP as advised a week later and the wound was ulcerated as it was not cleaned properly in A&E. I appreciate that our hospitals are under-staffed and overcrowded but its unacceptable for a wound to not be cleaned correctly and for the staff to be so busy that it took five hours to receive stitches.

The efficiency, care and professionalism of those I came into contact with leaves nothing to be desired. They were courteous, helpful and made me feel at ease and relaxed. The nurses on Surgical Ward 1 were exceptional in their care of the patients and nothing was too much trouble for them. In all, the team were brilliant. I wish to extend my gratitude to them all.

The staff on the ward were fantastic, they accommodated every request and enquiry we had. We did have to chase the doctors as there was confusion as to who we were under, having been admitted with a post-op infection.

I had my baby there last Christmas and the care I revived was second to none! My husband and I were treated with the upmost respect and dignity! I could not thank all the staff enough from medical, nursing and domestic staff, they were all fantastic and I feel they do not receive enough recognition for all their hard work!

The patient was sent from her GP with bad stomach pain and was left for hours. She was then told she would not be seen for another few hours. Nobody knew what her problem was or ruled out something serious, so if she had appendicitis or some bleeding internally, a few hours could kill or cause serious problems the longer left untreated.

I went to the hospital with my friend who was six weeks pregnant and had started to bleed. They took her blood and she had to wait for her turn for the scan which was around four hours. She was not allowed to eat anything before the scan, meanwhile the nurses went on a break while other woman were left starving. When we got into the scan, the nurses didn't say anything particular. We more or less knew what was going on, she would have a miscarriage but the nurses sent us home and recommended to drink paracetamol. How is that acceptable? She returned that evening as an emergency because she was bleeding very severely. Yet again, the nurse just sent her home. Two days later she had a miscarriage at home. I can't even imagine how dreadful and emotionally scarring it must have been. I think the nurses should have at least hospitalised her. I'm so disappointed in the staff. I would imagine she is not the only one who went through this. God Bless!
