Have been in Wexford for five C-sections, varicose veins, hernia operation, gall stone surgery and colonoscopy and have always received great care and could not say a bad word about hospital.

I had my baby in April 2015. I had a great experience, I could not fault anything. From admission to labour to SCBU, you were all great. Thank you.

I hear many medical mishaps but this one takes the biscuit for its sheer blindness. Man is dispatched to A&E by out of hours GP. He has 2 swollen legs to the knee because he has heart failure and kidney failure. He is seen by A&E nurse and triaged as a 'sore leg' patient and must wait seven hours for a knee X-Ray before he is referred to the surgeon even though he has no surgical problem. But he is now on the sore leg protocol and there is no way off it, other than seeking help elsewhere, which he had the support to do. Thank goodness he didn't have something like a deep vein thrombosis - those seven hours could have been critical. Only comment from the A&E: 'Our protocol is 10 years old and we follow it'. Just imagine how many patients went down the wrong protocol in that time! I really feel for patients with complex or multiple medical problems.

I had my long awaited first baby in April this year in Wexford General and I just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff I met. Everyone I came in contact with treated me with such kindness and professionalism and made a very anxious time bearable. I would have no hesitation in attending Wexford again. Thank you so much!

I took my son here last year when he was seven, due to him being doubled over in pain and tears running down his face. It took two hours to get him any pain relief. Nurses in A&E didn't seem too bothered in finding the doctor on call until I said I would go looking for him myself. I was then told the next morning to bring my son home without any doctor examining him. I refused to move. I found some doctors' attitudes very rude, like they thought they were important people The nurses at night time took too long to see to my son when he was doubled over in pain three nights after being admitted. It wasn't until I started getting annoyed I finally got a doctor up from A&E to see my son. That doctor was so lovely and gave my son pain relief. In general, doctors could do with taking the time to explain things without being in a hurry all of the time. Other than that things were ok. My advice is if you take your child to Wexford General and you know there is something wrong and are told to take your child home, refuse to move until your child has been seen to by a doctor. My son got treated only because I refused to move.

My father was given medication which saved his life but that was before, during and after receiving medical and nursing care that almost cost him his life.

Spent seven hours with 3-year-old child complaining about stomach pain. Doctor was moving us from room to room for about one hour. Way that they took a blood sample was unbelievable. Never seen something like this even in horror movies. It was clear that the doctor that took blood sample was not able to do it. They treated my 3-year-old child worse then an animal. After another two hours another doctor told me that they needed to take another blood sample. So after all this time they had no results at all. A waste of tax payers' money. Stay out of this place.

My mother was sent to Wexford General for a scan for a suspected condition, but they DIDN'T do the scan and put her on a waiting list for Waterford, which they said could take months, so to sum it up they did absolutely nothing. The doctor set up this appointment for a scan. She had to return to her own doctor after a long day waiting for a scan she never got.

No private room available to me as kept for isolation patients so despite paying insurance, rooms were left empty just in case. Disgraceful service for sick children. Every child should have own room regardless of ability to pay privately.

Absolutely filthy, paediatrics is a disgrace. I had to remove my child after 10 days because he picked up infections. The staff were rude and unhelpful. The play room is in bits and all toys are broken. The hospital is an absolute disgrace, like some thing you would see in a third world country. The children's ward had damp patches everywhere and sockets hanging off the walls. My child will never be treated by that hospital again. a huge waste of tax payers money.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the names of all the people that treated me, however I was in the A&E department as a patient for 28 hours from about 10:30 pm until the following night and I cannot praise highly enough the staff on duty during my time there. Every time there was a delay for any reason, it was explained and I can fully understand the delays as emergencies happen. From the catering staff right up to the surgeons that treated me I praise them greatly, well done to all involved.

I was brought by ambulance to Wexford recently. I was seen immediately as I was a cardiac patient. The care and attention given by the doctor and staff of the coronary care unit was exceptional. Thank you.

I have suffered with this illness twice before, so I knew what was wrong. But the doctor, a different one than the previous times, said the scan was normal. I was admitted with the pain and don't really remember that much about the first day or night. Also it was showing up I had high temps all the time. When the pain finally settled I was left with this terrible unbelievable soreness. But this doctor decided to let me home even though I felt like crap. Almost a week home now and I'm here in agony. Can't sleep, can't walk, can't do anything as I'm so sore. Im very disappointed at the way I was treated

I had the misfortune to take a friend to A&E recently. We arrived at 7.30pm, checked in at reception and were told to take a seat. My friend was seen by the triage nurse and we went back to the waiting room. It was busy, both adults and children. There were two adults that arrived, both under the influence, a security guard who I'm not sure what his purpose was except to stroll around dangling keys and a receptionist who was short when asked why the delay (we did not leave until 6.36AM). We asked nurses after six hours where my friend was on the list and were told THERE IS ONLY ONE DOCTOR, yes ONE DOCTOR covering the whole hospital, yes both the main hospital and A&E. We were repeatedly told this by two nurses. My friend got called at 4.45am and while the doctor was writing up notes on a previous patient, told her that X-ray closed at 5 and to hurry down if she was to make it, a bit difficult on two crutches. No offer of a wheelchair. She got the X-ray done and was told to wait for results which she got nearly an hour and half later by a doctor with her leg strapped up by a nurse who clearly just wanted to be at home. In reception a drunk elderly man was trying to get the staff to organise a taxi for him and they couldn't have cared less. Then two women came up to reception with the same drunk man to say that they had picked him up off the ground outside after falling and could someone look after him. The receptionist was rude called a nurse and he was told to leave again by the security guard, which he did. This man no matter how drunk surely should have been checked over after two women said he had fallen over outside, he was elderly and the security guard said your not our responsibility get on your way. Also children made wait to be seen, a young baby who I think had trouble breathing not taken straight away. Disgraceful is one word, I have many others. I wouldn't bring a dog to be treated here and to be left the best part of 11 hours. The running of this hospital is disgraceful, who ever is in charge needs a larger than life wake up call and should be ashamed.

My daughter's doctor thought she had kidney stones because she kept getting kidney infections so he sent her for an x-Ray and blood tests. We spent two hours waiting for a blood test then another three for results and then they said she was fine and we could go home. It's nearly a year later and she hasn't got better but won't go to the doc because she's scared he will send her home again!

I was very well treated here. I had felt very ill with a stomach bug that left me dehydrated. I was sent immediately into an A&E ward, put in isolation in a bed with pillows and blanket and a commode at my disposal. Anne Marie was very good at finding my vein for blood tests and for the drip. Soon I was feeling better and was able to be discharged after about seven hours. I was very blessed to be treated so well and so promptly.

All areas of the hospital are filthy, walls are damp, curtain around bed was covered in sick, doctors were rude and obnoxious and treated my baby like a rag doll. Sockets are hanging off the wall and ceiling tiles are missing or broken in a lot of places. Window in parents' kitchen is covered in muck, disgraceful.

Having to watch how our very ill brother was treated having broken his hip was dreadful. Waiting two hours for an ambulance was bad enough then to be on a trolley for four hours and not one person made any effort to do anything to help him or even make him a bit comfortable. This has made me determined never to bring anyone else there. At least at home you would get cared for.

The dirt of this hospital is disgusting! Public toilets were so filthy I couldn't even bring myself to use them when I went in! There was coffee spilt all over the wooden railings of the stairs which I spotted on my way in and it was still there three hours later! The smell in the corridors was horrific! Some of the nurses were very nice while a couple of others were so ignorant and rude it made me want to complain! I appreciate they have a hard job but there is no need for ignorance! I work with the general public and it can be testing but I still keep a smile on my face and try to help them! I asked a nurse for a bed pan and she turned around and told me I don't work in that ward you will have to ask someone else while continuously walking away from me! That was just one incident. I think nurses should be made get training in how to speak with patients and their families as it can be a hard time for us too in a lot of cases. After all they chose their own career path into nursing and I understand it must be tiring and testing but it still doesn't justify the way some of them treat patients and loved ones.

This hospital is an absolute disgrace. Poor hygiene, understaffed and nasty attitudes. They do not care about the sick. They are doing the minimum job they can. The patients' families have to fight for their loved ones and be their advocates, because the hospital staff sure as hell is not doing it. They evaluated my family member and it was clearly evident that they should have admitted them, but they did not and then my family member got worse and fell and ended up then being admitted. Even now, it is clearly evident that my family member has serious medical issues going on and they are very blase about the whole situation. I am horrified, appalled, and angry about the care they are receiving. This hospital needs a wake up call. It is absolutely deplorable what is going on there! I would rate this hospital a big fat zero!
