In The Labour ward.. Annie In the Theatre.. all ataff present on May 21st In after surgery recovery ..Sandra In the ward, the lovely Midwife Fiona Of course my Consultant who really made everything go so smoothly Dr Miriam Doyle All those mentioned went above and beyond in the care they gave to both myself, my husband and our baby Ellen. I really think that in an era when people are quick to complain people like those I've mentioned should be celebrated.

Maternity Ward: Dr. Mariam Doyle Midwife Caroline Midwife Carmel I had my first baby and they made this whole experience so easy. The nurses looked after me and my baby with a smile on their faces even though they had been working for the last 13 hrs. I was really comfortable and felt at home. I will recommend this to others and will come back to this hospital for my next baby. Big thank you to all the staff in Portlaoise Maternity Ward.

The Doctor working 19/02/10. Lovely manner, clearly explained my dad's problem and treatment. I think his name was Peter, A&E doc. The nurses were working flat out with crowded surroundings but were the epitome of professionalism and kindness. The auxillary staff were cleaning and doing their jobs efficiently and all in all a brilliant experience. Prompt treatment from start to finish.

Dr Miriam Doyle & her team. Dr Doyle delivered our baby girl in Nov 08 and she was fantastic from the minute she walked in the door. She explained everything to us and even spent time with us after the birth, explaining about the afterbirth. The midwives and nurses were equally as good.

The maternity staff were great - the midwives, including JulieAnn, lovely red head and the night staff - and the cleaning staff were great - especially Helen and Carol, and the catering staff were lovely and so cheerful, and of the doctors I saw - Dr Doyle and Dr Suhill were so good and helpful and I was very happy with them. On the most part I was very happy with all the staff - from doctors, nurses, cleaning and catering staff. Oh and in the A&E Early Maternity Clinic - there are the most lovely staff - can't remember names right now - but midwife name beginning with A and doctor beginning with M that wears a head scarf - but they were so friendly, helpful and informative.

The staff at the maternity ward are outstanding. They're extremely over worked and do the very best they can in sub human conditions. A midwife Carmel (don't know her second name) personifies everything a top health care professional should be is just one of the many fantastic staff on maternity in Portlaoise.
