There was an older nurse who was brilliant, she settled the pillows for me to sit up, and gave me pain killers that worked, and was in and out of the ward every 15 minutes to see if all was well. She had a very cheerful caring personality, and I don't even know her name to say thank you in person.

My father was an inpatient for several weeks on the ENT ward. Due to his illness he wasn't able to eat normally. We were so grateful to the dietician on the ward Geraldine Sexton. She spent a lot of time with Dad and listened to his concerns. She made sure that we had everything we needed when he was discharged and that he was confident in giving himself his feeds. She arranged appointments with Dad outside her normal clinic times and was and still is always on the other end of the phone if we have any problems. We are truly grateful for all her care and support. She is a true healthcare professional.

Paediatric diabetes team. My daughter was recently diagnosed with diabetes and the care she received was excellent. We were educated on all aspects of diabetes. I would like to especially recognise the diabetes nurse specialists Maura, Norma and Ann and the dietician Shirley

I have to mention two different dept in this little thank you. Firstly to the staff of level 2 ante natal, especially Gemma and Marian, you are truly ladies, the level of care I experienced with ye on my extended stay with ye was second to none, and then my shining light, Karen the scbu night nurse. Your positivity kept me breathing not to say my little baby boy, myself my partner and our baby owe you our lives and our nerves! we will repay your kindness, how we dont know but we will find a way!

St Ann's Ward, all the staff were exceptional and fantastic and I had found this to be true in other wards that my dad visited in Mallow over the past number of years. My dad passed away on the 1st Aug and the care, respect and dignity that he was shown was more than 100% by evrybody. The staff that I had most dealings with were Laura from Kilfinane, Timmy and Sheeba are the names I can remember but all the nurses were fab and the doctors.

The physiotherapy staff went out of their way to arrange for a splint that they didn't have for me in Ardkeen even though that is where I saw my Consultant. The physio I got has me back to full health again. Thank God for STGH if I had to rely on Waterford I'd still be in a wheelchair.

I would like to say a big thank you to nurse Deirdre on duty in A&E after i was recently involved in a RTA. Her kindness towards me will never be forgotten. She took great care of me when I was very frightened and hurt. Nurses don't get enough thanks for the work they do and I really appreciate all the help I was given by the staff in A&E on arrival. Regards Mary Kate Carroll

At the time of my father's admission, his life was saved by the surgeon Mr Gaffney. Up until that point no other doctor or hospital found a solution for his problem.
